PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION AVAILABLE TO DISABLED VETERANS

A property tax exemption is available to 100% disabled veterans. 

Form #5107, Affidavit of Disabled Veterans Exemption, may be downloaded and printed from the State of Michigan, State Tax Commission website or obtained from the Leroy Township Assessor.

The completed form and a letter from the Veteran's Administration stating that the veteran is 100% disabled, must be submitted to the Leroy Township Hall on or before March 1st of each year. 

The form cannot be accepted prior to January 1st of the effective year.  The Assessor will keep a list and send a form to all qualifying veterans (or spouses) currently receiving the exemption.

The  surviving, unremarried spouse may still qualify with the exemption form and letter after the death of the qualifying veteran. 


LEROY TOWNSHIP BOARD OF REVIEW

The Board of Review (B.O.R.) meets March, July and December as required.


December Board of Review Meeting

The Leroy Township Board of Review meets on Tuesday, December 10th, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. to correct qualified errors on the assessment and tax rolls, Poverty Exemptions and P.R.E.'s received after the July Board of Review meeting.


March Board of Review Meetings

Organizational Meeting - Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.

Due to the 2020 Presidential Election, the dates for appeals has been changed by a resolution of the Leroy Township Board.

First Meeting for Appeals - Wednesday, March 11th from 9:00 a.m. - Noon and 1:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Second Meeting for Appeals - Thursday, March 12th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The Assessor is available to answer questions about your Notice of Assessment from February 24th through March 2nd during regular office hours:  Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
