PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION AVAILABLE TO DISABLED VETERANS

A property tax exemption is available to 100% disabled veterans. 

Form #5107, Affidavit of Disabled Veterans Exemption, may be downloaded and printed from the State of Michigan, State Tax Commission website or obtained from the Leroy Township Assessor.

The completed form and a letter from the Veteran's Administration stating that the veteran is 100% disabled, must be submitted to the Leroy Township Hall on or before March 1st of each year. 

The form cannot be accepted prior to January 1st of the effective year.  The Assessor will keep a list and send a form to all qualifying veterans (or spouses) currently receiving the exemption.

The  surviving, unremarried spouse may still qualify with the exemption form and letter after the death of the qualifying veteran.

ON THE 2017 ASSESSMENT ROLL, P.R.E.'S, VETERAN AND POVERTY EXEMPTIONS.

(NO PUBLIC PROTESTS WILL BE HEARD AT THIS TIME)


ASSESSOR'S REVIEW

              The Assessor's Review is open January 16, 2017 through February 28, 2017 during regular office hours.        Call (517) 521-3729 for an appointment.

LEROY TOWNSHIP BOARD OF REVIEW

The Board of Review (B.O.R.) meets March, July and December as required.

The March B.O.R. Organizational Meeting is on Tuesday, March 7, 2017.  Meeting time TBA.

The March B.O.R. regular meetings:  Monday, March 13, 2017, 9am-12pm and 1:15pm-4:15pm

                                                                   Tuesday, March 14, 2017, 2pm to 5pm and 6:30pm to 9:30pm

                         March B.O.R. by appointment only.

The July B.O.R. meets Tuesday, July 18, 2017.  Meeting time TBA.

The December B.O.R. meets Tuesday, December 12, 2017.  Meeting time TBA.
